CHICAGO - VAMP Chicago is proud to announce a special performance on International Women’s Day, Friday, March 10 at 10:30 p.m., at MCL Chicago. This special performance will feature an expanded cast of all the ladies of VAMP in one show. Donations will be accepted at the show to raise funds for local charity Thresholds Mothers Project. Audience members are welcome to donate additional funds online.

"The women of VAMP are proud to support programming for women and mothers, right here in our neighborhood [Lakeview],” said VAMP Chicago’s Development Director Amanda Jane Long. “It was a unanimous vote to select Thresholds Mother's Project to receive donations made at the International Women's Day show."

VAMP ensemble member Cat McDonnell added that she “was drawn to their [Thresholds] programs that support young pregnant and parenting women. Teen pregnancy is so prevalent in Chicago and many young moms do not receive the support they need.” She added that “Thresholds' Mothers Project offers housing, education and mental health services to young mothers as a means of alleviating some of that burden, so I think their organization is a very deserving beneficiary of our Women's Day show proceeds.”

Show Description
VAMP is a twice-weekly showcase of Chicago's strongest musical comedy talent. Each week cast member Key Holders and house band The Vampers present, BYOB drinks in hand, a hilarious night of audience interactive music comedy. It's like "Whose Line Is It Anyway," but everyone is Wayne Brady.

Every performance is followed by a cast Meet & Greet and drink specials for audience members at our neighborhood bar Shakers on Clark.

Groups of 10 or more can receive discount tickets, reserved seating, and a chance to be a volunteer in one of VAMP’s signature audience participation games. It’s the perfect celebration for birthday, bar/bat mitzvahs, corporate events, or just a great time with friends. Contact Michael Shepherd Jordan at for Group Sales.

Founded in 1976, the Thresholds Mothers Project provides comprehensive assistance to mothers with mental health challenges and their children. Parents in our program are working to provide safe, healthy and nurturing environments for their children, while also receiving support with mental illness, homelessness, and/or the effects of abuse, neglect, or other traumatic experiences, As most are also making the transition from adolescence to young adulthood, The Mothers Project focuses on the acquisition of independent living skills, in addition to providing education and support to develop healthy parenting skills.

Thresholds is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

VAMP debuted on Thursday July 31, 2014 at 10 p.m. in the newly renovated MCL Chicago showcasing Chicago’s strongest musical comedy talent. Featuring a rotating cast of 16 actors and nine musicians the show’s increased popularity allowed it to expand to twice weekly performances earning it the award “Best atmosphere for musical improv” in Newcity’s Best of Chicago. In July of 2015 VAMP Chicago LLC was founded and the company continues to grow with productions at its home theater MCL Chicago as well as its Touring Company. Attending a VAMP production ensures a hilarious night of audience interactive music comedy that’s a lot like “Whose Line Is It Anyway,” but everyone is Wayne Brady.
